For 33 days, from 26 March 2020 to 27 April 2020, as the world came to terms with the potential consequences of failing to contain the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, New Zealand was placed in a nationwide lockdown. 

 

Alert Level 4 would see the most significant restrictions placed on New Zealanders’ movements in modern history.
